Hardin County Sheriff’s Office says allegations against Silsbee ISD employee are 'unfounded' after investigation

The district did not identify the staff member by name or by job title.

SILSBEE, Texas — After a thorough investigation The Hardin County Sherriff's Office says that the allegations against a Silsbee ISD employee are unfounded.

The Hardin County Sherriff's Office says they have not discovered any criminal conduct to support allegations of criminal conduct by an employee of the Silsbee School District in a press release Tuesday afternoon.

HCSO says it has conducted an extensive investigation into the allegation. This involved conducting witness interviews, reviewing digital evidence from cellular phones and social media accounts, and a forensic interview by the Garth House Child Advocacy Center.

HCSO says they have met with both the alleged student victim and the victim’s parent along with the alleged adult district employee.

The staff member, who was not identified by name or job title, was on administrative leave while the incident was being investigated, according to statement to parents released by the district on Monday.

The district, in the statement, assured parents that it takes all reports and allegations seriously. 

12News reached out to the Silsbee Police Department to find out if they are investigating any district employees but has not heard back from them yet.
