HARDIN COUNTY, Texas — The Hardin County Commissioners Court voted Monday morning to lease a building located at 445 West Monroe Street in Kountze to relocate the AgriLife Extension Agent Department.
The move reportedly comes due to AgriLife outgrowing their current space.
According to Hardin County Extension agent Katie Pace, the item passed unanimously.
12News reached out to Pace to explain what role her office is plays in Hardin County.
"We are in affiliation with A&M providing a free service to the county answering questions about gardening, wildlife, pond management questions, tree management questions. We also manage the 4H program in Hardin County," said Pace.
According to their website, the AgriLife Extension Agent Department is a member of the Texas A&M University System and reaches out across the state to all people, where they live and where they work. Their mission To provide quality, relevant outreach and continuing education programs and services to the people of Hardin County.
