JASPER, Texas — Former Jasper City Councilwoman Hazel Johnson passed away on Wednesday, September 18 at the age of 79.
Johnson served on the Jasper City council as representative of District 3 from 2012 to 2020.
She was born in Eunice, Louisiana and loved serving her hometown and its citizens.
Johnson is being remembered by family and friends as a "feisty" and "spunky" woman who loved the outdoors, fishing and gardening.
A private graveside celebration was held with her family.
She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, siblings and those who loved her.
