BEECH GROVE, Texas — The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department responded to wreck involving two vehicles on US Highway 190 west of Jasper near FM 777 in the Beech Grove community.
Around 5:51 p.m. two vehicles collided, causing major damage to both, according to BGVFD Chief James Gunter.
There were five people in total in both vehicles, including small children, who were injured. One person vehicle was trapped in a vehicle, Gunter told 12News.
BGVFD began to assess the patients and rescued the one person trapped in the car. Allegiance Mobile Health - Jasper EMS uused three MICU units to transport all five patients, some of them with serious injuries, to CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital and CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Highway 190 was closed for over an hour while the accident was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
BGVFD responded with Engine 11, Tanker 11, and 12 firefighters. Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department provided assistance with two firefighters.
