BEAUMONT, Texas — The people who live in a west-Beaumont home had their Fourth of July disrupted by a fire around 7:45 a.m. The house is in the 9500 block of Shepherd Drive near the intersection of Shelby Avenue and Shepherd Drive.
Everyone was out of the house when firefighters arrived. Flames in the kitchen area were quickly put out and firefighters began searching the home to make sure there were no other areas that might flare up later.
The fire was reported tapped out by 7:58 a.m. As of 8:11 a.m. the cause has not been announced.
