Beaumont family displaced following house fire Saturday night, cause under investigation

A family of five says they lived in the home for 17 years and were shocked to see the damage.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Fire/Rescue crews were called to fight a house fire just after 10 p.m. Saturday night. 

It happened in the 2600 block of Bolivar Street in Beaumont, near Goliad Street, and took firefighters roughly 30 minutes to get under control.   

Details have not been released about how the fire started as fire officials continue to investigate the cause of the blaze.

Crime scene tape still surrounds the structure and an arson investigator was seen looking through the home on Sunday.

12News spoke with members of a family of five, who say they had lived in the house for 17 years.

Luckily, they were not home when the fire erupted but the house is severely damaged. 

The family saw the aftermath for the first time Sunday afternoon, and told 12News they were shocked to see what happened.
