BOLIVAR PENINSULA, Texas — Several firefighters were fighting to put out a beach house fire at Crystal Beach.
An i45Now Facebook post circulating social media said 911 calls were made around 9 a.m. Friday regarding a burning beach house on Verdia Drive on the Bolivar Peninsula.
One of the residents who reported the fire said they heard what sounded like an explosion and were unsure if anyone was home, according to the post.

Firefighters battle beach house fire in #CrystalBeachTX
About 9 PM Friday (4-10-2020) 911 calls came in about a beach house on fire on Verdia Drive in Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula.
First arriving units from the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department confirmed a beach house with heavy fire showing.
One of the residents reporting the fire also said they heard what sounded like an explosion and were unsure if anyone was home.
Several departments are on scene battling the fire including Port Bolivar Volunteer Fire Department and High Island Volunteer Fire Department.
Galveston County Sheriff's Office is controlling traffic along Highway 87 where emergency vehicles are staged.
