Multiple first responders are working a furnace fire, Wednesday night, at South Hampton Resources on FM-418 in Silsbee. The highway was shut down while firefighters responded to the scene.
Silsbee Fire Department has reported that the fire is contained and there are no inquiries.
"We were in the process of commissioning a new unit, one of the heaters failed on us, we don't know exactly what happened," plant manager Turner Evans tells 12 News.
Evans says the unit was not operational when it caught fire. A cause for the fire is unknown at this time.
The fire did not damage any equipment, according to Evans.
Plant operations will continue as normal.
