BEAUMONT — Law enforcement, including agents with the DEA, were at Rodonaia Family Medicine and Aesthetics Wednesday afternoon.
DEA agents as well as Port Arthur and Beaumont police departments on the scene were loading up boxes of evidence as well as a computer from the practice.
12News learned that the DEA was interviewing Dr. Grigoriy Rodonaia, who earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in the Caribbean in 2004 and has been a licensed physician since 2007.
According to the Texas medical board, he has been practicing in Texas for over seven years with no malpractice information, nor does he have a criminal history.
12News spoke to Dr. Rodonaia, and he maintained his innocence. He said really didn't know why he was being investigated, but he mentioned that the DEA was investigating how the office runs. Rodonaia said he will be open for business Thursday morning.
So far agents have been silent on what this investigation is about.
