BEAUMONT, Texas — As you wrap up your Cyber Monday shopping, the FBI is warning to watch out for scammers.
There are some common scams to look for including crypto-currency investment schemes, tech support fraud along with social media scams.
It's also important to look out for unrealistic deals and fake contests that are designed to steal your personal information.
If they look too good to be true, they probably are.
12News spoke with Connor Hagan who works for the FBI. He says older adults are usually the targets of these scams.
"It's heartbreaking around this time of year, because, as we know, many of our senior citizens are there, you know, to help the younger members of their family. You know, whether it's by giving gifts or, donating to charity. We do see an increase in elder fraud, but anybody can fall victim to a scam," said Hagan.
Hagan also says younger people can also be targeted by social media ads and contests.
If you suspect a scam, you can report it to your bank or local law enforcement.
