21-year-old Lumberton man dies in single-vehicle crash on Texas Highway 92 near Silsbee

The crash happened around 3 p.m. on State Highway 92 in Silsbee.

SILSBEE, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash on Highway 92 that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Lumberton man.

Wyatt Sawyer, 21, of Lumberton, died in the crash that happened around 2:39 p.m. on Texas Highway 92 in Silsbee, according to DPS.

Sawyer was driving a Toyota south along Texas Highway 92 when he drove off the roadway to the right and overcorrected back to the left, causing the car to go into a side skid across the highway and into the east ditch, where it hit multiple trees, according to DPS.

Sawyer was pronounced dead on the scene by a Justice of the Peace.
