JASPER, Texas — The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department is urging drivers to watch out for fallen trees after responding to an accident on Friday.
Emergency crew with engines 8 and 11 responded to a report of a single vehicle accident at 5:50 a.m. on US Highway 190, west of FM 1747.
Responders discovered an accident involving a vehicle and a fallen pine tree that was blocking the roadway.
According to the BGVFD, the vehicle suffered major damage, but no injuries were reported.
Responders were able to clear the tree from the roadway.
The accident was investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.
After responders cleared the scene, the vehicle was towed by Jasper Xxon Towing and Recovery.
Many trees are dying and falling due to last summer's drought, according to the Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Stormy weather increases the chances that a dead tree may fall.
