BRIDGE CITY, Texas — Middle school students in Bridge City got an unexpected school holiday Wednesday after a transformer near the campus failed.
The power has been restored and school will resume at the regular schedule tomorrow, according to Bridge City ISD on Facebook.
The Bridge City Independent School District notified parents and students just after 6 a.m. that classes at the high school and the middle school would be delayed Wednesday morning by two hours due to a power outage according to a Facebook post from the district.
About an hour and a half later at 7:39 a.m. the district announced that classes at the middle school would be canceled for the entire day due to the outage according to a Facebook post. Classes at the high school still were set to start two hours late according to the post.
The Entergy outage map shows an outage near the campus due to a failed transformer.
