BEAUMONT, Texas — One man was followed this week from a bank to Classic Southeast Texas car dealership in Beaumont, where his vehicle was broken into while he was inside the dealership.
An employee told 12News that the incident happened early Thursday afternoon in less than a couple of minutes. Witnesses says the thief broke a window in search of money. However, nothing was recovered.
That same employee noticed the suspect hiding between two vehicles in the dealership parking lot. After making eye contact, the man took off running and got into the passenger seat off in a black Aldi, the employee said.
"I never seen nothing like this before, never, we got cameras all over the place," logistic worker Joann Herring said. "They've got to be crazy if they come up here and mess with us."
Law enforcement have describe these type of activities as "jugging." Within the past couple months, Southeast Texas law enforcement has seen their fair share of these cases.
