An employee at an industrial plant in Orange was flown for medical treatment following a medical emergency.
A medical helicopter arrived at the Arlanxeo Orange facility on FM 1006 just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Orange fire crews helped with the landing zone.
The company released the following statement over the incident:
"Shortly before 5 PM on Sunday, October 15th, 2017, while working on a small bleed valve connected to a process line, an ignition occurred, and an ARLANXEO Orange employee suffered non life-threatening burns. The employee was reported as stable at the time of the incident, but was transported to a hospital that specializes in burn treatment via helicopter as a precaution. There is no impact to the community from the incident and the plant is operating normally. The safety of our employees and the community are always our first priority at ARLANXEO and we will be further investigating this incident with our Health and Safety personnel."
