Driver reportedly runs stop sign, causes Beaumont ISD school bus to crash into car

There were no students on board and the driver of the bus was not injured. BISD is not at fault.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A driver was taken to a nearby hospital after reportedly running a stop sign and causing a Beaumont Independent School District bus to hit the car.

Just before 9 a.m. on Friday, officials say a car ran a stop sign at the corner of Gulf St. and M.L. King Jr. Pkwy. which resulted in the BISD bus crashing into the car. 

There were no students on board and the driver of the bus was not injured. 

No citation has been issued to the driver of the car and BISD is not at fault.

The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
