DPS Troopers investigating ATV crash that left 14-year-old injured

A passenger fell off the back of the ATV as it was traveling around a curve, according to DPS.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating an ATV crash that left one teen injured.

It happened Sunday, January 15, 2023 on Cameilla Drive near Oleander Avenue. 

Preliminary investigation says that around 4:40 p.m., a 2017 Honda ATV was traveling east. 

It is reported that a passenger fell off the back of the ATV as it was traveling around a curve, according to a news release from DPS. 

The 16-year-old driver and 14-year-old passenger were not injured.

Another 14-year-old passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for treatment, according to the release.

This is an ongoing investigation.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Camellia Drive, near Oleander Ave, that occurred Sunday, January 15, 2023.

The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 4:40 p.m., a 2017 Honda ATV was traveling east. It is reported that a passenger fell off the back of the ATV as it was traveling around a curve.

The driver, identified as a 16-year-old juvenile and a passenger, identified as 14-year-old juvenile, were not injured. Another 14-year-old juvenile was transported to Memorial Hermann for treatment.

This is an ongoing investigation and no additional details are available at this time.
