BEAUMONT, Texas — The Diocese of Beaumont announced a new Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
Robert Reid will be joining the diocesan staff on February 19, 2024.
Reid, a Port Arthur native, has 34 years of experience in education in Southeast Texas working as a teacher, assistant principal and principal, according to a Diocese of Beaumont news release.
He also served as an elected member on the Port Arthur Independent School District Board of Trustees from2013-2021 and was an appointed commissioner on the Port Arthur Housing Authority Board of Commissioners 2012-2022, the release states.
He has worked at Southeast Texas public school districts, the Texas Youth Commission, at Monseigneur Kelly Catholic High School and most recently in the Windham School District, which is within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Reid and his family are parishioners of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Port Arthur.
