Daughter of Kimberly Langwell says she knew where mother was for 25 years

Tiffani McInnis was only 15 years old when she reported her 34-year-old mother missing on July 9, 1999.

BEAUMONT, Texas — The daughter of Kimberly Langwell has waited 25 years for answers in her mother's disappearance, but after an arrest was made, she's one step closer to receiving closure.

Tiffani McInnis was only 15-years-old when she reported her 34-year-old mother missing on July 9, 1999.

"It's a long time coming and I'm so very grateful to have my mother back," said McInnis. "Not in the way I wanted her, but to know that she's no longer being held is a great feeling."

McInnis called police after her mother did not show up for dinner plans they had made that night.

"I've known that since the day that she was gone, she's been there," she said. "So it's tough, it's tough to know where your mom is and there's nothing you can do. "

In April of 2024, a reliable informant told police that Langwell's ex-boyfriend, Terry Rose, 67, admitted that she was murdered inside his home the same day she went missing, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Rose also reportedly admitted to burying her on his property.

Beaumont Police along with multiple other agencies searched Rose's home and wrecker business on Lindergh Dr. for four days. With the help of Texas EquuSearch, they made a break in the case on Thursday.

"At this time we were able to report the human remains were discovered during search," said Beaumont Assistant Chief of Police Jason Plunkett. "The identity of the remains are being confirmed at this time, however, we believe they are the remains of Kimberly Langwell."

During a press conference today, Beaumont Police Chief Jimmy Singletary thanked the FBI, ATF and Texas EquuSearch for helping solve Langwell's disappearance. He also acknowledged the detectives who have been on the case for decades.

"For our three detectives, we are so very, very proud of for staying with this from the beginning," said Chief Singletary.

McInnis believes that Rose's arrest confirmed what she already feared.

"While I don't believe that we will ever know truly what happened besides what the evidence is going to show, but I've always known that she's there," she said.

The remains found on Rose's property are still being tested, so they haven't been officially identified. It is unknown how long the testing will take.
