VIDOR, Texas — This weekend in Vidor, Creekwood Farms will be open for their Fall Festival with something to offer most everyone.
In April, 12news introduced you to Creekwood Farms, a 113-acre blueberry farm and with the season change, they're trading out blueberries for pumpkins for thier upcoming Fall Festival
“The last festival, we had thousands of people come through the gates. We are hoping for an even bigger turnout this time,” said Elizabeth Campbell, of Creekwood Farms
This weekend, the farm is opening its gates to the public for the festival, which will feature lots to do for the entire family.
"We will have a pumpkin patch right at the entrance,” Campbell said, “It will have photo ops, pumpkins that you can purchase or just look at. We will also have food trucks. We will have a petting zoo, pony rides."
After the success of the previous festival this year, it was a no-brainer to plan something new for the community.
Once you arrive and park, you'll have a special way of getting to the event grounds in style when a hayride carries you to the entrance.
Entry fees are $12 per person for ages three and up.
You can also hitch a ride around the festival in a horse-drawn carriage.
The big difference from the previous festival in April is the pumpkins.
"Blueberries are not in season right now, so we are having a pumpkin patch instead,” Campbell said.
While pumpkins will be available for purchase, you'll still be able to get your blueberry fix in other ways.
"We have a Creekwood Market with blueberry themed items, blueberry soap, blueberry toys, blueberry lemonade, blueberry ice cream,” Campbell explains.
The festival will be held on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
"It really is great for the community,” Campbell said. “It brings the community out, people spend time with their families, just having a great time outdoors.”
