BEAUMONT — If you would like to get the "buzz" about any issue, then you can check the barber shop at "Major League" on Delaware in Beaumont.
"I began to pray for Zena Stephens because I have met her before and I have seen her do a lot of positive things already in the community," said William Landry, shop owner.
Despite the accusations, Landry says that he still supports the Jefferson County Sheriff. However, at Lamar university there were others that seemed more critical.
"We vote for these people to be trustworthy and whenever something like this happens I do feel like they should be held accountable," said Kimberly Boase, a Lamar student.
Boase says that she voted for Sheriff Stephens before she became the first African American female Sheriff in Texas.
"I found a chance to actually support someone within the Democratic party and I also found value in a strong woman figure," said Boase.
On social media several users have been showing their support for the sheriff by changing their profile pictures to photos of Zena Stephens.
