JASPER, Texas — The City of Jasper has scheduled a six-hour power outage for maintenance work at the Jason Electrical Substation.

The power outage will start at 11:59 p.m. on September 28 and last until 6 a.m. on September 29, according to Jasper's Director of the Light and Power Department Lee Wellman.

The outage will include all customers with City of Jasper power.

S&C Contractors will perform maintenance on a circuit switch that feeds the transformer from the 138,000-volt transmission line, according to Wellman.

Crews will check on all emergency power generators to ensure water and sewer services do not experience interruptions.

During the outage, the Jasper Police Department will have extra patrol units to help with roadway intersections and signal lights.

Jasper is asking for patience and understanding as the repairs are being made.

If you have questions or concerns, contact Jasper City Hall at 409-384-4651.
