Orange County annual toy drive will exchange free bowl of gumbo for a donated gift

The gifts will go to towards the Salvation Army of Orange and the children all across Orange County.

VIDOR, Texas — An Orange County Constable is giving a bowl of gumbo to people who donate a gift to a toy drive. 

The 3rd annual 'Christmas with the Constable' toy drive will be held on November 16, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Raymond Gould Community Center located at 385 Claiborne Street. 

Constable Matt Ortego will exchange a free bowl of gumbo when you bring one unwrapped boy and one unwrapped girl toy, according to his Facebook post. 

The gumbo is prepared by Courvilles restaurant located at 1744 Rose Lane in Beaumont. 

The Orange County Constable for precinct 4 partnered with the Orange County Republican Women and the gifts will to towards The Salvation Army of Orange and the children all across Orange County.

Toys may be dropped off beforehand at the Orange County Precinct 4 Constables Office located at 190 Camp Street in Vidor, Texas.
