Car collides with escaped cow in Jasper

The driver of the car was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital by Allegiance EMS, their condition is currently unknown.

JASPER, Texas — At around 9 p.m. East End Volunteer Fire Department was called to FM 1738 in Jasper after a car hit a cow that standing in the middle of the road.

The Department of Public Safety is investing the crash. Preliminary investigation shows that a Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on the 1300 block of FM 1738and hit a cow that was on the road.

The car received significant damage from the impact and had to be towed away from the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital by Allegiance EMS, their condition is currently unknown.

The cow was pronounced dead at the scene.
