BURKEVILLE, Texas — Burkeville firefighters responded to a fire at a single-story wood-framed home Friday morning.
Around 6:45 a.m. Burkeville Fire Department responded to the fire at a home at the corner of 1028 and Highway 87 North.
When they arrived on scene the home was around 60% gone, according to Burkeville Fire Chief Charles Duckworth.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
The fire is believed to have started by an unattended space heater, according to Duckworth.
Burkeville and Newton County firefighters worked on the fire.
