BEAUMONT, Texas — One lucky Buna resident is $1 million richer after scratching off a $20 Texas Lottery ticket and claiming a top prize in the game.
The winner, who has opted to be anonymous, bought the Platinum Millions ticket in Buna at the Hwy 96 Fuel Stop at 35024 Highway 96 South, according to a news release from the Texas Lottery.
This is the first of four $1 million prizes to be awarded in the scratch-off game according to the release.
The Texas Lottery announced the big win on Wednesday morning, May 16, 2024.
Your odds of winning one of 10 prizes in the game, which boasts $115 million in total prizes, are one in 3.66, including break-even prizes, according to the Texas Lottery.
Of the 785,994 $20 "break even prizes" available, 243,613 have been claimed so far.
