BEAUMONT — After 61 years in the pest control business, the 'Bugspert' Bill Clark is retiring.
The largest pest control company in the area, Bill Clark Pest Control, is now owned by longtime employee Josh Smith.

Smith and his wife purchased the company from Clark in January. The company has won various awards and honors over the years, including the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas Torch Award for Market Place Ethics in 2003 and 2015.

The owner of the largest pest control company in the area and one of the largest independently owned pest control companies in the state, Bill Clark, is retiring after 61 years in business.
Josh Smith, longtime employee, will be announced as the new owner of Bill Clark Pest Control at today’s Beaumont Chamber of Commerce’s Mix and Mingle. The Mix and Mingle will take place at Bill Clark Pest Control located at 2975 N. 11th St in Beaumont from 4:30pm until 6:30pm. To find out more about the sell please contact Amy Tarver.
Josh was born and raised in Vidor, Texas. Graduated from Lamar University School of Business and has been heavily involved in the community. Josh has worked for the company for 17 years. He started out as a technician and then worked his way up through the company from Sales, to Pest Control Service Manager and then to the Assistant General Manager before moving into the General Manager role.
In January of this year, he and his wife purchased Bill Clark Pest Control from Mr. and Mrs. Clark allowing the company the ability to stay local and entrenched in the community. Josh received the 40 under 40 professionals award and graduated Leadership Beaumont in 2013. His service with the Chamber includes the Mentorship Program, past Beaumont Chamber Foundation Director, a past Facilitator for Leadership Beaumont, current Chair of the Leadership Development Division and he is a member of the YPO. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont. Josh has been married to his wife Sarah for 14 years and they have a 10 year old daughter, Emily, and a 4 year old daughter, Olivia.
Throughout the years Clark and Bill Clark Pest Control have received numerous awards and honors. Some of which include the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas Torch Award for Market Place Ethics in 2003 and 2015, he was also inducted into the BBB Role of Fame in 2013. Clark received the Dr. Robert A. Swerdlow Small Business Person of the Year in 2012 by the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and has received a plaque in recognition of his long-standing membership of over 55 years with the Chamber of Commerce.
