Buckstin Brewing Co. owners now hiring for Beaumont location expected to open in March

The Nederland brewery will soon have a chance to stand out in Beaumont's West End at the West Park Marketplace shopping center.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Months after a familiar Nederland brewery announced it was coming to Beaumont, owners are excited to share their progress.

Buckstin Brewing Company, owned by husband and wife, Gabrielle Blanco and Justin Buchanan-Lopez, focuses on creating craft beers and pizza for Southeast Texans to enjoy.

Blanco says their business was hit hard in its first year during the COVID-19 pandemic, having to shut down for five months after only being open for three months.

"We really, really struggled with that," Blanco said. "When, you know, you're competing against all these other places where people could go in person, we had to make ourselves really stand out."

The duo had some time to come up with a solution.

"We woke up every day with a new idea. What can we do? We made pizza kits to sell to people to do things at home. We opened up our front window at our location to sell beer to-go out of there," Blanco said.

Buckstin Brewing stayed alive, becoming one of Nederland's most popular hot spots.

"We were not big enough. We were bursting at the seams over there. We didn't think, you know, two years, a year and a half of is was pandemic, we were going to be expanding this quickly," Blanco said.

After over two years of searching for an additional location, the brewery will soon have a chance to stand out in Beaumont's West End at the West Park Marketplace shopping center.

Manager Elisabeth Tatum can't wait for the grand opening

"I am so excited. I am so ready to open. I get emails every single day asking me 'when are you guys opening. when is it going to come?'" Tatum said.

As for any specially made recipes for Beaumont, Blanco says to stay tuned.

"We're here to provide the absolute best quality product we're known for and elevate it," she said. "I know it's going to come together and I know that the community is behind us 100% and we're gonna make it even better."

Owners expect to open this location by March and are hiring for various positions. You can apply here.

Table, stool, chair, and tank plaques and sponsorships are available for anyone wanting to leave their mark on Buckstin. If you're interested, you can contact owners through the website.
