ORANGE, Texas — A story about a Cuban couple who danced and sung their way to stardom will unfold on a Southeast Texas stage in just a few weeks.
The Broadway musical "On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan," will premiere at the Lutcher Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
This production chronicles the journey of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, the Grammy Award-winning power couple who took the music world by storm, according to the Lutcher Theater news release.
From humble beginnings in Cuba, to topping the charts with their infectious rhythms and soulful melodies, this Broadway musical celebrates the Estefan's extraordinary lives, music and the unwavering spirit that fueled their rise to stardom, JT Robertson, Lutcher Theater public relations manager said.
"We are thrilled to bring this Broadway hit and the inspiring story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan to the Lutcher Theater. This production is an uplifting tribute to their incredible legacy and the impact they've made on the music industry. Audiences are in for an unforgettable evening of entertainment that will have them dancing in their seats," Lynae Sanford, executive director of the Lutcher Theater said.
The show features an ensemble cast, choreography and hits like "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You," "Conga," "1-2-3" and many more. "On Your Feet!" is a celebration of love, perseverance and the universal language of music that has touched hearts worldwide, the news release said.
