ORANGE, Texas — An Orange native who made it big as a professional boxer is now giving back to his community for the holidays.

O'Shaquie Foster, the World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion, teamed up with a nonprofit, Just A-Lil Help to give residents of Orange a great Thanksgiving.

'Shock's 1st Thanksgiving with Just A-Lil Help' was held on November 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 505 North 15th Street.

Residents were given a personal experience going through the assembly line, where they were handed different food items by volunteers. At the end of the line every family received their own turkey for Thanksgiving by Foster himself, according to a news release from District 3 Councilwoman Terrie Salter.

Foster teamed up with several area businesses including Golden Triangle Polymers, who donated 3,900 canned and boxed food items.

Foster was also available to sign autographs and take pictures with fans at the event.

"This event is not just about turkeys, it is about bringing families and friends together for a day of fun and gratitude.  It is about spreading holiday cheer," the release said.
