BEAUMONT, Texas — The identity of the body that was found in the water in Beaumont has been released.
Donovan Michael Hall, 16, is the deceased male that was found in the LNVA canal Friday, December 8, 2023, according to a Beaumont Police Department Facebook post.
Officials say the preliminary investigation revealed Hall's cause of death as an accidental drowning.
The Beaumont Police Department posted Hall on their Facebook page at 9:56 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 as a runaway.
His body was found a week later in a canal when a LNVA employee observed the body floating in the water and called the police.
Investigators are still awaiting final autopsy reports that will include toxicology results.
