BEAUMONT, Texas — Beverly Parker, the wife of the late state Senator Carl Parker has died, according to her family.
Parker died on Thursday afternoon after fighting cancer. Parker was admitted to MD Anderson on April 16, according to a statement from the family.
A week later, she was transferred to the hospital's palliative care unit, where she spent her final days surrounded by her family.
Her death comes just three weeks after the death of her husband.
"Beverly accepted her fate with grace and strength, remaining positive and upbeat until the end. She continued to share her kindness, love, and grace with us and the hospital staff who adored her," the family said in their statement.
Her funeral arrangements are pending with Melancon Levingston Funeral Home.
