BEAUMONT, Texas — After nearly nine years, the Cotton Creek Winery is being sold, according to an update from owner Traci Tucker.
"Almost nine years ago, Artie and I fulfilled a dream that we had and bought our winery," said Tucker. "So many plans, so many ideas, so many things we had that we wanted to accomplish. Even though we accomplished some of those plans, we still had so much more to do."
Artie Tucker, husband of Traci Tucker, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the age of 58. Before passing, Tucker was battling stage 4 lung and liver cancer.
"When Artie passed away over a year ago, my entire world was shattered. Our dream was cut in half, and I was completely lost," said Tucker. "With a few setbacks and feeling lost each day, I knew I had to keep our dream alive and going. I kept pushing through with the help and support of our loyal customers and our staff and have done the best that I can."
Tucker plans on taking good care of herself and family.
"The time has come that I can no longer continue OUR dream without Artie, and it breaks my heart, but I must take care of myself and do what is best for my family and I moving forward," said Tucker.
In the update, Tucker expressed her appreciation to supporters.
"Artie and I could not have made it without your continued support! I appreciate all of you – my customers that have become my family and been loyal to us," said Tucker. "I am so grateful and appreciative of my staff; they have been the backbone to our company and kept me going so many times when I wanted to give up. I ask that you continue to support the winery."
