BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body Sunday evening in a wooded area of the Avenues neighborhood.
The man's body was found in the wooded area near Crockett St and Avenue C Sunday evening according to Sgt. Tom Swope, a Beaumont Police spokesperson.
Officers were sent to the area at about 6:45 p.m., Sunday, according to dispatch records.
Currently police do not know what caused the man's death and expect an autopsy to be performed later on Monday Swope told 12News on Monday morning.
Police are continuing to investigate the man's death and will release more information when they get it Swope said.
