BEAUMONT, Texas — The Beaumont Police Department is investigating after a body was found in advanced stages of decomposition on Friday.
Around 3:15 p.m., Beaumont detectives responded to the 3900 block of I-10 East Service Road after receiving a report about a decomposing body.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the body was in an "advanced stage of decomposition."
Police say that due to the condition of the body, results from the autopsy are pending to determine the identity and cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
