City of Beaumont to host annual Hanukkah Menorah Lighting Ceremony

The Menorah Lighting ceremony symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, a message that resonates universally and embodies the essence of the Hanukkah festival.

BEAUMONT, Texas — The City of Beaumont will host a public lighting ceremony marking the beginning of the first night of the 8 nights of Hanukkah.  

The annual Hanukkah Menorah lighting ceremony event marks the start of the 'Festival of Lights' on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 5 p.m. at City Hall located at 801 Main Street. 

The Menorah Lighting ceremony will feature traditional Hanukkah blessings and Hanukkah-inspired activities from the Beaumont Children’s Museum and Beaumont Public Library.

The City collaborated with Jewish Synagogue, Temple Emanuel, located at 1120 Broadway Street in Beaumont. 

"The City of Beaumont is proud to host this special event, fostering unity and embracing the rich diversity that defines our community," Beaumont Mayor Roy West said. 

The Menorah Lighting ceremony symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, a message that resonates universally and embodies the essence of the Hanukkah festival.  

"Hanukkah is a time of reflection and joy, and we are grateful for the opportunity to come together with the wider community to share in the light of this festival. We are honored to join hands with Temple Emanuel to illuminate the first night of Hanukkah and embrace the diverse traditions that make Beaumont such a vibrant and inclusive community."
