ROSE CITY — A small fire broke out at a steel plant in Rose City around noon Monday.
Orange County Emergency Services District No.1 was assisted by Beaumont Fire-Rescue firefighters at Optimus Steel, on Highway 90 near Vidor.
No injuries were reported and firefighters finished responding just before 1 p.m., Beaumont Fire-Rescue Capt. Jimmy Blanchard told 12News.
Optimus Steel manufactures wire rods, coiled rebar and billets, a semi-finished piece of metal, usually less than 36 square inches.
