BEAUMONT, Texas — A beloved crossing guard who helped kids cross the street on the corner of Dowlen and Westgate has passed away.
Bobby Frank was always there to help students get to class at Marshall Middle School.
"It makes me feel good….I get enjoyment out of doing it," Frank previously told 12News.
Marshall Middle School posted the news on their Facebook page saying "He was a kind-hearted man that loved his job; love the faculty, staff, and students of GCMMS; and loved the people of Beaumont."
Even at 87-years-old and armed with a cane, Frank was determined to keep working, calling it the "Doctor's Orders."
"My doctors tell me keep moving around. Keep yourself active at my age,' he previously said.
Funeral arrangements for Frank are still pending. 12News will update when and if we receive more information.
