Beaumont City Council approves $100K contract renewal for company that helps repair water main breaks

City of Beaumont Director of Public Works Bart Bartkowiak says crews are still working to repair over 100 leaks around the city.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont City Council has approved to renew a contract for a Beaumont-based company that helps with emergency main water break repairs throughout the city.

During the meeting Tuesday, council members met to vote on extending the $100,000 contract to SETEX Construction Corp.

City of Beaumont Director of Public Works Bart Bartkowiak says crews are still working to repair over 100 leaks around the city.

Bartkowiak says the contract will help bring that number of leaks down.

Crews also need to work on repairing sidewalks and fences that were moved in order to fix leaks.

The City of Beaumont has also rescinded all drought restrictions.
