Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, several organizations to participate in Walk to End Alzheimer's

The walk takes place at Downtown Event Centre starting at 8 a.m. and walking will begin at 9 a.m. Several organizations will participate.
The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

BEAUMONT, Texas — The Beaumont Alpha Omega Omega chapter of AKA, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and many additional organizations will participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's tomorrow morning. 

The walk will take place at the Downtown Event Centre located at 700 Crockett St. starting at 8 a.m. The Promise Garden opening ceremony will start at 8:45 a.m. and walking will begin at 9 a.m.

There will be a one-mile route, a three-mile route, lots of entertainment, face painting, bandanas for the dogs, great music and more.

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research, according to their site.

While there is no fee to register for Walk to End Alzheimer's, all participants are encouraged to raise funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care, support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and ultimately, a cure.
