BEAUMONT, Texas — First responders received a hearty meal on Wednesday thanks some local businesses.
Howell Furniture and Ashley Home Furniture came together with Courville's Catering to feed day and night crews for the Southeast Texas region.
Meals were distributed at Courville's on Rose Lane in Beaumont Wednesday morning and afternoon.
Beaumont EMS, Acadian Ambulance, Silsbee Convalescent Center and Crossroads EMS are just some of the recipients. More than 270 people are receiving meals.
"This is one of many events of our Feeding the Frontlines donations to help Southeast Texas get back to business," Howell Furniture said in a Facebook post.
The to-go meals contained roasted pork, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and dessert.
"Howell Furniture in partnership with Ashley HomeStores of Southeast Texas are helping Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana get back to business with $50,000 in donations to locally owned restaurants to feed frontline and essential workers," according to the Howell Furniture website.
Restaurants who have been part of 'Feeding the Frontline' include Rockin' A Cafe in Beaumont, Slice Pizza in Hemphill, Lucy's Cafe in Orange, J Wilson's, Tia Juanita's, Courville's and Smitty's Smokehouse among several others.
