HARDIN COUNTY, Texas — As summer quickly approaches, many residents of Southeast Texas have had their outdoor plans hampered by a seemingly booming mosquito population.
In fact, the mosquito problem has gotten so bad in Hardin County that officials have teamed up with the Texas Department of State Health Services to try to tame the unyielding swarms.
According to a press release, Hardin County officials in coordination with the Texas Department of State Health Services have scheduled wide-area spraying in response to increased mosquito populations throughout the county.
Spraying will begin at dusk on Saturday evening, May 25, 2024 and continue throughout the night.
In case of inclement weather, spraying will be rescheduled for the next available evening and continue on an as-needed basis.
With help on the way, Hardin County residents will hopefully have at least a little reprieve from the swarming masses as they get ready for some much needed summer rest and relaxation.
