PORT NECHES, Texas — The annual Port Neches RiverFest is underway since the gates opened at 5 p.m.
The five day community event offers a variety of foods, arts & craft vendors and live entertainment.
Dozens of people gathered along the Neches River for Faith and Family Night. This is an opportunity for Southeast Texas churches to raise money for their organizations.
Over 20 local churches attend the event and set up booths selling everything from pulled pork sandwiches to tacos.
First Baptist Groves church leaders say the festival is a great way to kick start funds for their summer activities.
"Yeah, we've got a few things planned, we're looking at doing a crawfish boil we're looking to do in a, like a 4th of July kind of party on the 3rd of July actually the day before. But this funding will help us do things for the community at our church that anyone is welcome to come and hang out and be with our church family," said Young Adult Paster Tyler Pippin.
This is First Baptist Groves' fifth year to participate and they say the festival has continued to grow every year.
Tickets are $10 tonight and the gates will stay open until 10 p.m.
