BEAUMONT, Texas — The Press Club of Southeast Texas hosted its 33rd Annual Excellence In Media awards show at the MCM Elegante, where local media is honored for the work they do.
12News was recognized for our excellence in journalism by winning nine first place awards in a long list of categories which include Breaking News, Specialty Beat Reporting, Best Digital News Story and Best Newscast.
12News has won best newscast for several years straight.
Other awards 12News was awarded with Best News Station, Digital Breaking News and Best Non-News Broadcast Special.
Anchor Jordan Williams won first place for Best Anchor.

The Press Club also honored Mary Stankus and her brother Vu Nguyen as Newsmakers of the Year. They performed CPR and saved two children who fell into a pool last year in Bridge City.
The two winners told 12News that God put them at the house that day, they just happened to be there.
A total of 252 awards were given out from 524 entries.
