12News Daybreak anchor reads to kids during 'Tia's Tales' at RC Miller Memorial Library

BEAUMONT, Texas — If you're looking for some help getting your child into reading then don't miss Tia's Tales coming up at several Southeast Texas libraries including the Beaumont Public Library.

Daybreak Anchor Tia Johnson will be reading to kids at several Southeast Texas public libraries. Today, she read to kids at Beaumont's RC Miller Memorial Library.

Today's books included "If You're Happy and You Know it" and "Do Not Open This Book." 

Johnson will spend an hour reading two books and leading the kids in an art project.

"Reading to kids plants seeds of imagination and curiosity that grow into a lifelong love of learning," Johnson said. 

The reading event will be held on Saturdays at different branches of the Beaumont library from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. 

Each event is free, welcome to all ages and no pre-registration is needed.
