Two local bull riders are making their names known around the world as they bring home top honors at competitions.
Cody Teel of Kountze and Beau Schroeder of China competed in December in the 2012 Bull Riding World Championship in Las Vegas, NV.
Teel won the World Championship. Schroeder won the top average.
Pro Rodeo News says the two have made Southeast Texas the bull riding capital of the world.
Teel was away at a competition during the interview for "What's Right in Southeast Texas" but Schroeder tells 12 News HD winning the top average at the super bowl for bull riding is like a dream come true. He recalls looking up at his parents in the audience when he won.
"Every night when I got off and looked right up at my mom and dad, they were jumping up and down and going nuts in the stands. It was pretty cool," he said.
Schroeder tips his cowboy hat to his father who helped him get started riding calves when he was just five years old.
"If it wouldn't be for him, I wouldn't be where I'm at and it's him that did it," he said.
For making Southeast Texas proud, Schroeder and Teel are proving they are "What's Right in Southeast Texas."
