Two law enforcement officers are making Christmas dreams come true.

Deputy Quenton Charlot of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office and Detective Patrick Britton with the Port Arthur Police Department are spreading holiday cheer. Both are Port Arthur natives and were raised by a single parent.

Deputy Charlot was raised by his mother Pamela Johnson, who works for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Detective Britton was raised by his mother, Priscilla Davis.

Growing up in single parent homes, the officers know the struggles those moms and dads sometimes go through in providing for their kids.

So, Deputy Charlot and Detective Britton turned to Facebook asking the community for donations.

Southeast Texas generously responded allowing them to surprise several families this holiday with cash and gifts.

So far, they've helped 3 families this month.

Parents have been moved to tears. Some can't even say thank you enough for the thoughtfulness of these two law enforcement officers and the community who sent in donations.

But, that's what the holidays are about: giving to others who may be going through difficult times.

Thank you Deputy Charlot and Detective Britton for doing "What's Right in Southeast Texas."
