Louisiana State Police Saturday arrested a casino employee has been arrested for stealing gaming chips from a Lake Charles casino.
According to a press release, Gaming Enforcement Division agents at L'Auberge Casino Resort reported seeing a casino employee from Golden Nugget Casino in Lake Charles exchanging Golden Nugget casino chips for L’Auberge casino chips.
The next day, Golden Nugget surveillance agents monitored the activities of casino blackjack dealer 52-year-old Cindy Thompson of Lake Charles during her shift. Agents say they saw Thompson place chips into her apron multiple times. Golden Nugget security officers detained Thompson until Troopers arrived.
During an interview, Thompson admitted to taking chips during her shift and showed where she hid the chips. Thompson stole at least $1000.00 in chips.
On November 21, 2015, Troopers arrested Thompson and booked her into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for felony theft. Bond was set at $5,000. The investigation is continuing.
