There are 10 people in the hospital who have a 'suspected case' of the coronavirus.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Hospitals have been tight-lipped when it comes to how many COVID-19 patients need critical care.

12News has been pressing officials for those numbers, and on Wednesday, we got a better idea.

The Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council is keeping track of how many COVID-19 patients are in one of our three major hospitals and what kind of care they need.

They shared those numbers on Wednesday. A total of 26 patients are in the hospital with COVID-19. Fourteen of them are in the ICU.

Twelve of them are in general isolation rooms. The website says Jefferson County has a total of 86 operational ICU beds.
