Nederland ISD employee tests positive for COVID-19

The district says this is the only positive test among employees

NEDERLAND, Texas — A Nederland ISD employee reported they had a positive test result for COVID-19 to the district. 

Employees who may have been in contact with the person who tested positive have been notified. The employee is asymptomatic according to NISD.

The employee's last day at work was May 20.

From a Nederland ISD news release: 

A Nederland ISD employee has self-reported a positive test for
COVID-19. The individual is A-symptomatic and is currently quarantined at home.
Out of an abundance of caution, Nederland ISD has contacted employees and
students that may have come in contact with the employee. The employee was last at work on May 20, 2020. The identity of the staff member will not be released for confidentiality purposes. This is the only positive test of a Nederland ISD employee at this time. The District is continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with local officials. As always, the health and safety of our
faculty, students and staff are our number one priority and we appreciate your
cooperation as we work through this.
